About Romano-Arabica

Romano-Arabica (New Series) is an annual, peer reviewed, international journal published by the Center for Arab Studies, University of Bucharest, since 2001, both on paper – ISSN: 1582-6953 – and on-line at: http://araba.lls.unibuc.ro/?page_id=63.

The journal is dedicated to the study of Arabic language (classical and dialectal), Arab literature (classical and modern), Islamic thought, Islamic societies, the interaction between the Arab civilization and other civilizations, etc. The Editorial and Advisory Board consists of the academic staff of the Center for Arab Studies of the University of Bucharest and leading scholars in Arab and Islamic studies from prestigious academic institutions around the world.

The average size of a volume is 200-300 pages. The authors of the articles published until now are high-reputation scholars from Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, France, Georgia, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Iran, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, the United States of America.

Romano-Arabica is available in numerous academic libraries such as: University of Oxford, Library of Congress, University of Chicago, British Library, University of Cambridge, University of Basel, Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Bavarian State Library, Pontifical Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies, School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London), Institute of Arab World, Dalhousie University – Killam Memorial Library, and many others.

Romano-Arabica is listed in international databases such as: Index Islamicus, Cascadilla, Ulrich, Linguistic Bibliography Online(Brill), EBSCO, Scipio.
